We are honored that the family of SSgt Stuart DiPaolo has invited the PGR to be present to welcome him home.  It will be our privilege to do so.

SSgt DiPaolo is a highly decorated Marine serving his country in the USMC.  He had 2 deployments to Iraq and 1 to Afghanistan; he was also stationed on Okinawa from 2005 to 2007.  He was severely injured on October 5, 2015 while participating in an MRZR and ATV licensing course on Camp Pendleton.  He was operating the lead vehicle.  Due to severe weather from the previous night, the roads were treacherous, he crashed and was thrown from the vehicle.  The 1900 pound armored ATV Landed on his neck and his face.  The force of the crash crushed every bone in the Marine’s face and caused multiple, severe injuries.

After numerous surgeries SSgt DiPaolo surprised everyone with a recovery that was far better than had been expected.   He continues to be an inspiration to his fellow service members helping other disabled service members through their hard times.  It is now time for this Marine to go home.

We have been asked to meet this hero as he arrives at San Diego Airport and accompany him to his home on Camp Pendleton.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero from the airport to Camp Pendleton. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

This mission involves an aircraft arrival. Arrival times can change at the last minute so please check this thread for any last minute changes before leaving.
