The family and the United States Marine Corps have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to accompany Sgt John D. Wise III, 27 yrs of age, to his final resting place.  It will be our honor.

Sgt John D. Wise III, enlisted in the Marines in August, 2007, he served proudly and on multiple combat deployments during his time with the Corps.  Wise’s awards include the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Ribbon with one gold star, the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Navy Marine Corps Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Ribbon with one bronze star, the National Defense Service Medal Ribbon, the Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon, the Global War Terrorism Service Ribbon, the Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with three bronze stars and the NATO International Security Assistance Force Ribbon.  He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton.

Sadly Sgt John D. Wise III perished in a car accident on February 2, 2018, just outside the Marine base.  He will be missed by his family, his friends, and his Marine brothers.  We are honored to accompany him and his family on his last ride.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

1330 - Est arrival at RNC

1346 – KSU to assigned shelter for Flag line, Service and Military Honors

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
