Jose L. Martinez, Jr., 58, USMC, Whittier - 27 FEB 18
« on: February 23, 2018, 04:44:42 AM »
The family has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present as Jose L. Martinez, Jr. receives military honors for his service to our country. It will be our honor to do so.

Jose L. Martinez, Jr. enlisted in the United States Marine Corp on 24 February 1979 and received an honorary discharge on 25 February 1983. At the time of his discharge, he obtained the rank of corporal.

In civilian life, Jose was an iron worker for 17 years followed by being a welding inspector for 13 years. He worked on such projects as Disney’s California Adventure, Staple’s Center, and the Wilshire Grand Concrete Pour that made it to the Guinness Book of World records.

He enjoyed fixing classic cars. He absolutely loved his ’51 Chevy. He loved telling stories, listening to old school music, spending quality time with family and watching his grandkids play.

Jose is survived by his parents, Jose L. Martinez, Sr. and Irene Nunez, his wife, Patricia, his daughters Monique and Christina, his siblings Sylvia, Mario, Hortencia and Olivia, son In Law Vicente, and two grandchildren.

Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the chapel to his final resting place located on the same site.
