The family of Gregory Dennis Meer has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Gregory Meer, 72, proudly served his country for 4 years in the United States Marine Corps.  He served in the Vietnam War, and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and 2 Good Conduct Medals.  Gregory loved being a Marine and lived his life as a Marine.

After Gregory’s honorable discharge from the Marines, he worked in the Real Estate industry until his retirement as an executive.

Gregory is survived by his partner Cheryl Kilmer, daughter Kelley Portman, son Gregory Meer, Jr., and 9 grandchildren ages 14 - 29.

The family has requested an accompaniment from North County Kia in Escondido to Miramar National Cemetery, a distance of approximately 26 miles.  It will be our honor to do so.  Gregory’s son Greg, Jr., will ride in our procession on his Harley, and will carry his father’s remains to Miramar National Cemetery.

Note: This notice is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.  For those interested, and all are welcome, please see the time table if you would like to participate.  For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.
