The family of Thomas G. Tomka,69 , has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the funeral service for their Hero, it will be our honor to do so.

Thomas G. Tomka served in the USMC from May 5, 1967 to June 3, 2008 and becoming a Chief Warrant Officer 5.  During his impressive service Thomas was awarded the Bronze Star w/ combat “V”, Purple Heart with Gold Star, Navy/Marine Commendation with Combat “V”, Navy/Marine Achievement with Combat “V”, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and three Combat Action ribbons.  Mr. Tomka served in Vietnam and the 1st Gulf War.

After his normal service he joined the Ca State Military and took part in Operation Noble Eagle, War on Terror and Enduring Freedom.  I recommend looking up these operations to fully understand his long career in the Military.

CWO5 Tomka served in three wars. In Vietnam (1968-1969) he served as an infantryman with 3d Battalion 4th Marines and was twice wounded. During the Gulf War (1990-1991), he was with 3d Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO), assigned to 1st ANGLICO and saw action near Al Wafra and along the coastal highway invasion into Kuwait City. He was awarded a Bronze Star with Combat "V." His reserve unit was activated shortly after September 11th 2001, and served in Global War on Terrorism (2002) as a quick reaction force. In January 2003, his unit was transferred to the command of the 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Regiment and he saw combat during the liberation of Iraq (2003).

After his honorable service Thomas continued helping his community by becoming a police officer and working the D.A. office as an investigator.  After that he went into his own business as PI from 2004-2017 when he sadly passed away.  When Thomas wasn’t working he loved spending time outdoors doing various activities such as shooting, camping, hiking and traveling.

Thomas Tomka is survived by his lovely wife Susan Tomka.  He is also survived by his children; Keesha 27, Brandon 26, and nephew Jason Ripper.
