The family of Sheridan James Reed Sr. has invited the PGR to participate in honoring his life and service to his country. It will be a privilege to do so.

Sheridan James Reed Sr. was born on January 30, 1934 to James and Julia Reed in Newark, New Jersey. He attended West Side High School where he excelled in track and football. This led to him playing semi-pro football with the New York Giants.

Sheridan James Reed Sr. enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952.  During his career he made Staff Sargent and was in charge of the military air police.  During his career he was given the title of Adviser to the Secretary of State about the Vietnam Campaign. Sheridan honorable service was completed in 1956.

Sheridan moved his family to California in 1958 where he worked as a general manager for the Volkswagen Company.  He soon pursued his career in Law Enforcement having multiple jobs.  He especially liked working with the K-9 unit, he loved those German Shepherds.

In growing up with animals he found his calling in rescuing dogs and cats.  He said if he could have his life over again he would have become a veterinarian.

Sheridan Reed Sr. is survived by his seven children Sheridan Jr., Christle, Sharon, Kim, Sherri, Shawn, Michael and step-daughter Peggy and step-son Gary.  He was preceded death by his late wife Lynn (Grimes) Reed.

He will be missed by a host of Grand-children and two Great Grand-children, an aunt, cousins, friends and all who loved him.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
