Russell David Lansberry has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Russell Lansberry, 79, proudly served his country from 1958 through 1979 in the United States Navy. He served on the USS Enterprise, Shangri-La, and Coral Sea. Hi assignments included Patrol Squadrons 21 and 50, Comfairwestpac NAS Atsugi Japan, Fighter Squadrons 162 and 111, Carrier Airborne Early Warning Training Squadrons 110 and 113. For his service he was awarded 2 Meritorious Unit Commendations, Good Conduct Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation.
After Russell’s retirement from the Navy, he worked 20 years as an electrician for Sony. He enjoyed taking care of his grandchildren, hanging with his friends, fishing, working on cars, and drawing cartoon characters.
Russell is survived by his wife Judith, his daughter Bernadette Lansbury-Judge and her husband Derrick, and grandchildren Jordan and Wyatt.
The family has requested an accompaniment from St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Poway to Miramar National Cemetery, a distance of approximately 18 miles. It will be our honor to do so.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
