The family of Jay Vecchione, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Jay Vecchione, 53, was born 1/19/65 in Providence Rhode Island, and moved to Garden Grove when he was 3 years old.

Jay enlisted in the Navy in February of 1983, and served as a Fire Control Technician on the Los Angeles class fast attack submarine USS Philadelphia (SSN-690), home-ported in Groton, CT. He was part of a five man group tasked with maintaining the weapons systems and combat readiness of the submarine. He served 6 years until February 1989.

After his military  service, Jay worked as a security guard for several companies most recently in a management position for Experian Corporation. 

Jay is survived by his parents Jerry & Diane, his sisters Christine and Barbara, his niece Casey and nephew Daniel.

The family has requested an accompaniment from their residence to a ship where his ashes will be spread at sea.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. If you wish to go directly to the boat, please be there Not Later Than 0930hrs.

NOTE: IT IS PAID PARKING AT THE BOAT BUT THIS WILL BE PAID FOR BY THE RIDE CAPTAIN.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
