Per request of Louise Fortune Caraway, PGR member Joe “Code 3” Henderson, and the family of Kenneth Mac Caraway, the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) have been requested to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey home.  It will be our sincere honor and pleasure to accompany our hero and his family at this most solemn occasion.

Kenneth (Kenny Mac) Caraway was born February 23, 1942 in Jonesboro, Louisiana and entered eternal rest on Friday, May 18, 2018, after a long and valiant battle with a respiratory and internal infection and their associated complications.  He succumbed to the infection at USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

Ken graduated from high school in Jonesboro, Louisiana, and soon thereafter joined the United States Air Force on 9 January 1961.  He honorably served his Country for four years as a member of the elite USAF Presidential Honor Guard (MOS 99129) for Presidents’ Kennedy and Johnson.  He was recognized for outstanding service by both Presidents, and true to his oath, he exemplified his life with valor, honor, humility and integrity.   He was discharged from active duty on 8 January 1965.

After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Ken worked in a number of occupations until starting his own Construction and Maintenance business, Caraway Construction Incorporated, which he owned and operated up to his heavenly departure.  His dedication to his clients was so immense that even when he was extremely ill, he continued to develop schedules, costs and plans for clients that needed his services.  Over his life, he created hundreds of jobs for his community and serviced two major chemical manufacturing and processing facilities in the Mojave Desert.  Despite his success, Ken was a humble person filled with love, and was always the first person to help others in need. He was an inspiration and a role model for his family and those who knew him well.  As the saying goes, “Ken is one of a kind, a true American and Patriot, and a person filled with love for his family, Country, and those in need”.

Ken is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Louise Fortune Caraway, and is preceded in everlasting life by his mother Alice Caraway and his father Arthur Caraway. Ken is the father of James Kenneth Caraway, Scott Travis Caraway, Dale Lynn Kissel, Kathleen Peterson, Michelle Miller, Patricia Giraud, and Baby Mac Caraway who died shortly after birth.  He has 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.  His family and friends will miss him dearly but take comfort in knowing he is with our Lord and Savior now.

For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the family home to his final resting place, approximately 92 miles.
