The family of United States Coast Guard Veteran Kenneth Joe Nevins, 86 years old, have requested the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany "Joe" on his final journey to RNC and attend his committal service to honor his service to our country. “Joe’s” son Bill Nevins and Son-In-law Sam Galbraith are SoCal PGR members. We are honored to do so.

“Joe” served this nation in the U.S.C.G. where Joe attained the rank of RD2. “Joe” was a Seaward Radio and Radar man and had assignments with the Pacific theater aboard a Destroyer Escort ship. His service assignments include Alaska, Korea, Japan and Hawaii. His awards are; Korean Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations (Medal?), National Defense Service Medal

After his service and into civilian life “Joe” became a commercial and residential contractor. Part of his business as a contractor included building barracks on military bases across the USA. He remained a contractor until his retirement. His hobbies included first and foremost his family, restoring antique vehicles – especially trucks, building “stuff” and skydiving.

His family consists of several motorcycle riders who will be joining us at Bill’s residence in the accompaniment to RNC. “Joe’s” cremains will be riding with his son Bill and his wife from the residence to RNC aboard their Harley.

Joe is survived by his brothers Howard and Dale, wife Ila Nevins, their children, Bill, Cindy, Brenda, Renee and Josette. He has 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
