Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), a non-profit organization. has invited the Patriot Guard to attend the Key Turning Ceremony for US Marine, LCpl Matthew Grashen, Wounded Warrior, in Temecula, CA and we are honored to do so.

HFOT has built  LCpl Grashen and his wife and two young children a home that has been adapted to his needs and will be mortgage free.  HFOT has done this for many Wounded Warriors across the country.

LCpl Matthew Grashen was on his first deployment in Afghanistan on August 1, 2013 when he stepped on an IED and lost both legs. He then spent many months at Walter Reed Medical Center for surgeries and physical therapy including learning how to walk on his prostheics.  He now walks, runs, plays wheelchair basketball, does long distance walking, hiking, swimming, and weight lifting.  He will compete in the Invictus Games in September, 2018.

The Patriot Guard will meet, brief, at the initial staging area for the procession. If you wish to participate and meet our Hero, he is expected to meet us at our staging site and we can shake his hand and learn how he is doing.  We are very excited to be there for this as we were there for the ground breaking ceremony several months ago.

We will then bring LCpl Grashen and his family to the ceremony. Distinguished guests will address the audience during the ceremony.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero.  For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the Hero and his family to their new home. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
