Per request of our good friend and PGR member Gregg “Digger” Walker (Walker Family Funeral Services), the family of Roger Barryman Steppe has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

Roger was born in Tavares, Florida on 04 October 1926 entered into Eternal Rest on 23 July 2018 at the V.A. Medical Center in Loma Linda.

Roger was only sixteen in 1943 when he joined the Merchant Marines in the midst of World War II. Roger served with the Merchant Marines until 1950 and then enlisted in the Army serving as a Medic until 1952. Roger saw a lot of action aboard Merchant Marine and Coast Guard vessels supporting troops throughout the Pacific during World War II from1943 to 1945. Roger was honorably discharged from the Army in 1952.

After the military Roger earned his Bachelor’s Degree and involved himself in numerous ventures, one of which included Owner/Developer in land and property industry, where he established mobile parks for many communities.

Roger is survived by his wife Louise, two daughters Shelly and Debbie and a son Roger Jr. He is preceded in death by his son Greg.
