We have been invited by the family of Howard Conrad, Sr. to accompany him to his final resting place, and it is our honor to do so.

Howard Conrad passed away on August 16, 2018 surrounded by his family.  He was born on May 15, 1926 in Wassau, WI.

Howard, at the age of 15, through fancy paperwork, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942 to aid and serve his Country during WWII.  During his enlistment, he served in the Pacific.  After his service, he was honorably discharged in 1946.

After his service, he served almost 40 years as a District Manager for Design For Living/Raffee Carpets.  He was also a talented craftsman and woodworker in his spare time.  People would come to Howard to have something special built for them.  Howard enjoyed Baja racing and was a friend of Corky McMillin, who is one of the best  Baja racers.  Howard was also known as a pool shark.  There were not many matches he lost.

Howard was a traveler and enjoyed learning the history of the areas in which he would explore.  After his retirement, he worked for an R.V. company that would move R.V.'s across the Country.  He liked being outside, whether he was gardening or golfing and enjoyed watching golf on T.V.

He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion Post 848, the Elks Lodge of San Diego County and the Knights of Columbus, where he enjoyed giving back to his community.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Armida; sons Kelly, Jeff and Howie; stepson Charlie Valencia; stepdaughters Cherie Valencia Nelson & Sheryl Holt; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
