Part 2 of 2 Parts
The family and the US Marine Corps have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor an American Hero, Sgt Jake E. Solley. We were there for his return home, we will now be there for his Military Honors and interment.
Sgt Jake E. Solley was proudly serving his country and the U.S. Marine Corps with the 1st Battalion, 1st Division at Camp Pendleton. At the time of his passing he was on TDY to Eglin AFB in Florida attending EOD School. He is spoken of by his fellow Marines as a natural leader and mentor who loved the Corps and would spend extra time helping his fellow Marines whenever it was needed.
His memorial was held recently at Valencia High School. He graduated from that school in 2012 and was remembered for being a leader as Captain of the football team. Jake even stayed active with those currently on the team offering encouragement and “Marine-like” boot camp physical training when he returned home on each leave.
Sgt Solley is survived by his father, James Solley, mother, Tina Solley, siblings, Dominic and Ashley.
We grieve with the family and his Marine brothers and sisters and are grateful we have been invited to honor him.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero.
