The family of LtCol Bennie A. Bray has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Bennie Bray, 95, served during WWII in the US Army Air Corp.  He first saw action at the Battle of the Bulge.  With the advent of the US Air Force, Bennie transitioned to the newly created branch and served with the Air Rescue Service.   He worked his way up the ranks from First Lieutenant to Lieutenant Colonel.  In Vietnam he served as a pilot picking up wounded soldiers and by flyingWrite amphibious aircraft.

Bennie served stateside during the Korean War moving from base to base and training other pilots. He was awarded 6 air medals during his time in the Air Force.  With a total of 28 years of military service, (1943 to 1971), Bennie’s last duty was serving at the Pentagon.

Bennie’s hobbies were playing golf and bowling.  He was survived by 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 adopted daughters.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.
