The family of Manuel "Rue" Ruiz Jr., has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their Hero, we are privileged to do so.
Manuel "Rue" Ruiz, age 57, was born in Seminole, Texas in 1961 and came to Santa Maria, CA in 1966 where he went to school in Santa Maria and also Texas.
He served in the California Army National Guard from 1983 to 1995. He was the ammunition chief for Battery "B", 1st Battalion, 144th Field Artillery in Santa Maria.
He worked at the Guadalupe school district for 20 years retiring in 2016. That's where he got his nick name "Rue".
Manuel was very involved in coaching the Guadalupe kids. He coached the Guadalupe youth football, basketball, softball and T-ball throughout the years. He enjoyed watching all sports especially his "Minnesota Vikings", he never missed a game and was fortunate enough to see them in Minnesota in 2012.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Yolanda and son Matthew (Sara) his Mother Velma Ruiz, Sister's Linda, Denise and Jessica (Texas) along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Manuel is preceded in death by his Father Manuel Ruiz Sr. and sister Eliza Ruiz.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
