The family of MM1 Stan Henry Meyers has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Stan Meyers enlisted Jan 6, 1947 in the Minnesota National Guard. He left the guard July 1, 1948 and joined the US Navy.  He had an honorable discharge August 25, 1957.

Upon leaving the Navy, he wanted to continue his life of service and joined the California Highway Patrol as a Motor Officer (Chips).  He joined in 1961 as a Patrol Officer and retired in 1986 as a Lieutenant.

He received the Medal of Honor from the Governor for a rescue he made of a woman attempting suicide on the Bay Harbor Bridge.  He is survived by his spouse Betty Meyers, children LeAndra Meyers and Melanie (Alex) Trevino, 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Upon retiring, he started his company focused on accident investigation utilizing all the skills and expertise gained by the Highway Patrol.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be standing a Flag Line for Final Honors.  Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
