The family of Ramon Hernandez Gonzales has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so.

Ramon was born in Presidio, Texas on 27 April 1925 and entered into Eternal Rest on 03 July 2020.

Ramon a member of our “Greatest Generation” was in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He completed the Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun Training Course at Camp Irwin, California. Ramon would serve as a truck driver moving supplies around the island of Okinawa where he was stationed during his enlistment. His numerous awards/citations included the Marksman M1 Rifle Badge, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the Army Occupation Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. At the time of his Honorable Discharge as a Corporal, Ramon was at Camp Beale, California.

After the military, Ramon worked in construction/mason for thirty years for the Griffith Company. He also worked in Los Angeles dying fabric in his early years. He took an upholstery class and began to reupholster anything he could find.

Ramon’s favorite pastime was to sit outside, play his guitar, harmonica, and sing.

Ramon is survived by his children Sylvia, Raymond, and Marcella. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
