The family of PO1 Brent Sturgeon, age 30, and the US Navy have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany their Hero from the mortuary to the airport as he is flown to his home state of Kentucky for burial. We will be honored to do so.
PO1 Brent Sturgeon enlisted in the US Navy in November, 2009 and was serving at the Mine Warfare Training Center at Point Loma in San Diego as an instructor when tragically he was involved in a car accident near the base which took his life.
Brent grew up in Kentucky and enlisted in the Navy shortly after graduating high school. He loved the Navy life and had served for 11 years, planning to make it a career. He was a dedicated sailor who had risen to the rank of First Class Petty Officer at the time of his passing.
Brent and his wife lived in Spring Valley in San Diego with their son and another baby on the way. He will be tragically missed by all his family, friends and fellow sailors. He will not be forgotten.
Patriot Guard in Kentucky will be awaiting his arrival to honor him at his funeral services.
