The family of James David Johnson, 71, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the Military Honors for their loved one as he makes his final journey. It is our honor to do so.

James passed away on August 18, 2020 at Robert Pettis VA Hospital, Loma Linda, due to heart failure.
 
James served in Vietnam from April 1968 to May 1970 with the 1st Aviation Brigade and 199th Infantry Brigade as an Aviation Mechanic and was honorably discharged as a Specialist E5. He was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Service, Vietnam Service, National Defense, Good Conduct and Army Commendation Medals for his service.
 
Upon discharge James owned and operated a commercial printing business for 45 years. He was married to Renee Johnson of Riverside, CA and had two children David Johnson and Adrienne Johnson both of Riverside. He has five loving and blessed grandchildren.
 
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. Please respect the rules of the cemetery as we are guests at the Riverside National Cemetery.

NOTE: MANDATORY COVID-19 regulations are in place, MASKS/FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED, please also maintain 6 FT DISTANCING at the cemetery.

1130 - Stage at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92508
(Staging Area 3 for Family, Staging Area #8 for PGR)

1200 - Mission Briefing

1230 - KSU to assigned Committal Area for Flag Line, Service and Military Honors for our Hero

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely. 

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
