The family of Dennis James Poturalski has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend his service and Military Honors.  We are honored to attend.

Dennis was born on July 27, 1950 and passed away from Agent Orange related cardiac illness on November 2, 2019.

Dennis served in the US Army in Vietnam as a Supply Clerk from June 17, 1969 through August 2, 1971.  He was Honorably Discharged and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and National Defense Medal.

After his military service he worked in several aspects of the transportation industry.  He drove trucks, was a Shop Manager for PIE Trucking and was a Transportation manager for both the Union Pacific and the BNSF railroads.  At one point he owned his own gas station and D&M Transportation Services.

He enjoyed a full life, was a good joke teller and would always give his opinion on any topic whether you asked for it or not!  He was an all around fun guy.  He was always accompanied by his best friend, his dog Whiskey.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary and his children Ricky, Clara and John.  He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and a 5th due 12-1-2020.

Note:  This is a Combat Related death. Tags will be available.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).  Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can.  Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
