The family of Michael James Rogers, 48 yrs of age, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend a Celebration of life for their Hero, we are Honored to attend.
Michael James Rogers was born in Orange, CA on 19 Jun 1972 and raised in Iowa, Louisiana, he passed away on 13 Feb 2021.
Upon graduating from Iowa High School he enlisted in the US Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic (ASM). He was honorably discharged from active duty and transferred to the U.S. Navy Reserves as AMSAN, (E3) at the completion of his 5 years Active Duty.
While in the Reserves he worked at Conoco Phillips in Louisiana while working towards and achieving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering.
In March of 2007, Michael heard the call to service once more, and he enlisted in the US Army as a Military Policeman until 2009 and was honorably discharged as a Specialist (E4). During his total Active Duty time he earned such awards as the Navy Good Conduct, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal w/star, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal w/star, Army Service Medal, Overseas Ribbon, Armed Services Reserve Medal and Army Driver/Mechanic Badge.
Before the end of his last deployment in 2008 he moved his family to Ridgecrest, CA where he reunited with them in 2009 completing a total of 9 years of Service and began his career in Civil Service on board Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division. At this time, Mike decided to attend the Naval Post Graduate School where he pursued and achieved his second Bachelors of Science in Systems Engineering. At the time of his passing, he was the Deputy Director of the Sustainment Group on China Lake with over 400 personnel under his charge and over 25 years of Government Service.
Michael further served the community of Ridgecrest in the youth sports programs as a Coach and as President of the Ridgecrest Youth Football Conference. He also served as a Reserve Officer with the Ridgecrest Police Department for 3 years.
Michael is survived by the love of his life, Lizabeth Marquet, with whom he was recently engaged, Mother and Step Father Marilyn and Herman Prejean, Brother Bill and his wife Rachel, sons Blake, Nathan, Chase and Kyle (currently enlisted in the US Marines), Hugo and Elliot Marquet and Nephews Zach and Tucker Rogers. His daughter Marissa Rogers preceded Michael in death.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the family home to the venue for service, approx 13 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.

You do not have to be a Veteran or motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed by the Ride Captain(R/C). Dress for motorcycle riding or casually if you are in a car (cage). No shorts or other inappropriate attire.
