The family of Armando “Al” Vazquez, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany their loved one to his final resting place and It will be our honor to do so.

Al, as he was known by friends and family, served in the United States Air Force from 16 Jul 1956 to 15 Aug 1960.  He was an A2C E-3 at the time of his honorable discharge.  The family does not know much about Al's military service only that he was awarded the AF Outstanding Unit Award.

After Al’s exit from the military, he worked for the Arrowhead Mountain Springs Water Company from 1966 to 1990.  He retired to Bullhead City, Arizona in 1991.  He then volunteered for the Bullhead City Auxiliary Police until he was hired in 2000.  One of his duties included prisoner transports.  He was also involved with the Shop With A Cop Program. This program provided over 100 underprivileged children to share in the spirit of Christmas with law enforcement personnel.  It started out with breakfast and then a trip to Walmart in squad cars with lights and sirens. The children were then able to each spend a $100 gift card.  He also continued to do security at various events until 2017 when he permanently retired.  Al moved back to CA in 2018 to live with his daughter, who became his full-time caregiver for the last two years of his life.  Sadly, Al contracted COVID and succumbed to it quickly.

Al is preceded in death by his wife Joyce.  He is survived by his three daughters, Lisa, Lori, and Linda; three step-daughters, Vicki, Susie, and Sandy; one son, Frank; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister, Consuelo, and brother, Julio.
