Kudo to all that attended!
April 22, 2021
Dear Southern California Patriot Guard Riders,
On Friday, April 9th, we had my husband’s, Leroy, Celebration of Life. We were escorted from our home to Montecito Cemetary by the prestigious Southern California Patriot Guard Riders.
When the PG Riders arrived at our home, shortly afterwards, we were respectfully saluted as we walked from our home to our car with the fallen soldier’s urn through a spectacular line of PGRs and their patriotic flags. Then our car, with my beloved husband’s urn, was placed in the caravan in the spot that symbolized the missing veteran. For some reason this really touched my heart and I wept as I felt the immense sacrifices that fallen veterans underwent for our country.
I cannot express how honored we felt as the motorcade continued escorting us through streets and freeways. We experienced pride and honor seeing the Ride Captain and PG Riders whiz in and out of traffic, protecting their fallen brother.
Once at the cemetery the PG Riders formed a line with flags and salutes for us to carry Leroy’s urn through. My heart was bursting with love and pride for Leroy.
I praise your organization and the PG Riders for their time in making my husband’s funeral absolutely honorable. They added so much dignity to the ambiance which the family will never forget.
I personally, want to thank my cousin, Mario Mejia, for introducing me to the PG Riders’ services and mission. Secondly, thank you to all the people that made it possible to have a Veteran Patriotic Escort, beginning with Gil Zaragoza. And equal appreciation to the men and women that attended that day. I ask God to give you all a special blessing for your works of mercy.
Forever Grateful,
Irene Martinez
