The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of USN Seabee Master Chief John Laszik Jr, 77, to attend and accompany him to his final military honors and internment.

Master Chief Laszik was a Proud member of the United States Navy Seabees. He served for 32 years from September 1960 to June 1992. His time was served with considerable merit and our hero was awarded the following: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal x3, Navy Achievement Medal x2, Navy “E” Ribbon x3, Vietnam Service Medal w/ Fleet Marine Insignia x5, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ Device as well as many unit citations, medals and awards. He earned the respect and admiration of juniors and seniors alike, and
earned the very distinguished title of Master Chief. Served multiple tours in Vietnam, as well as other forward deployed sites throughout the globe during his career.

For two years after service to his country he tried the civilian industry but ended up returning to Federal Government Civil Service as he was recruited to be Program Manager for CESE at Port Hueneme. Since 1995, John has shared his knowledge and expertise, while displaying incredible levels of determination, honesty, sincerity, and the meticulous attention to details in every job, role and function he held. He passed recently while on official government business trip to St. Louis, Missouri.

Our hero leaves behind many Seabee brothers, co-workers, and friends. John is survived by his loving wife “Edie”, his sons, Donald and Michael, his daughter, Jackie Lynn Calderon as well as six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He is pre-deceased by his parents John and Josephine Laszik, his brother, Robert, his daughter, Shelly Ann Laszik and grandson, Frankie Sinsun.
