Edward Erle Hastings, 79, US Navy – Newbury Park, 12 Jun
« on: June 10, 2021, 03:30:30 AM »
The family of Edward Erle Hastings has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders to be present in an honor mission and flag line.  It will be our honor to do so.

Edward was born on 07/29/1942 and entered into eternal rest on 03/25/2021.

He served in the United States Navy from 03/06/61 to 02/28/63 and the reserves from 03/01/63 to 10/10/65.  While serving on a ship overseas, he worked in the ship’s laundry as well store and commissary. While working in the commissary, he received an accommodation for initiative and sedulous work.

After exiting the Navy, he became a construction plumber and worked in that trade until he retired in 2005.

Edward loved to ride motorcycles.  He loved this country and was proud to serve.  A large American flag is flown outside his home every day.  His family was the most important thing to him.

Edward is survived by his wife Mary; children Sherry Waldman, Scott Hastings, and Brian Hastings; brother, Gordon (also a Navy vet); and five grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.
