The family of Edward Henry Sarquist, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their loved one. We are honored to do so.
Mr. Sarquist was an Army recruit for a short period of time until he was permanently injured by an Army tank running over the right side of his body. He was not crushed because he was in soft soil, but he was severely injured. He served from May 1959 to August 1959. He received a medical discharge and was on VA disability for the rest of his life.
In civilian life motorcycles were his passion. He built and sold Harleys for a number of years and rode all over the country. At age 48 he had a stroke and was unable to talk again and his military injury finally forced him to give up motorcycling. After these disabling events he started rehabilitating falcons and hawks.
He is survived by his sisters Patricia Mamola and Ilene Farry. He had two sons Edward and Eric and a daughter, JoAnn. He also has 3 grandchildren.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all are welcome, please see the time table if you would like to participate.

Under the leathers and behind the shades
is a thumping, not of horsepower,
But determination of heart for our brothers, sisters and families
You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car)
