Our friends at the Patridge Creek Mortuary in Santee have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor six (6) American Heroes for their service to our Country. It will be our privilege to do so.

This is a very special mission. We have never done this in San Diego before. We are hoping for a large turnout. Come out and honor these six (6) Veterans that have no families to mourn them. The Patriot Guard Riders will be their family.

Partridge Creek Mortuary has six (6) Veterans to be transferred to Miramar National Cemetery for burial and inurnment.

The six (6) Veterans being honored are:

Wayne Gibbs             SP4              U.S.Army
Michael Breard          Unknown       U.S.Coast Guard
Kenneth Davis          Unknown       U.S.Army
Guy Bergquist          Unknown       U.S.Army.
Timothy Lawrence     MS3             U.S.Navy
Richard Jones           SP4              U.S. Army

The military cannot find any family for any of these Veterans. The Patriot Guard Riders will be their family. We will accompany the six Veterans from the Mortuary to Miramar National Cemetery. We will salute them all as the Army National Guard Honor Team folds the flags and render the playing of Taps.

May the souls of these Veterans rest in peace beneath the green carpet of grass in a Nation they helped to keep free.

"We Are Their Family"

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring these Military Veterans. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the Heroes from the mortuary to their final resting place. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you at Committal “A”.

We have new COVID restrictions at Miramar. You MUST wear a mask if you’re within 6 feet of anyone while at the cemetery.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All PGR members are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car.  If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain).  Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car).

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
