The family of LCpl Jonothan F. Barnette, age 24, and the U.S. Marine Corps, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany their Hero from the funeral home to the airport as he travels home to his family in Georgia.  We will be honored to do so.

LCpl Jonothan Barnette was serving with the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines at MCAGCC in 29 Palms at the time of his death. He was killed during a Service Level Training Exercise.  He was a rifleman with Kilo Company.

Jonothan planned on making the Marine Corps his career by reenlisting and trying out for the Scout Snipers, already a trained designated marksman, beginning to follow in his father’s footsteps.

He was one of those men who would go out of his way to look out for his peers regardless of the task and request and ensured the well being and high morale of his friends. If you were to ask him for a pinch of tobacco he would make a sly joke and give it to you even if it was the last bit he had for himself, because that was the type of man he was. He put his brothers above himself in every way.

Jonothan is survived by his wife, and daughter with another child on the way.  He is also survived by his parents, siblings and many other family members, friends and his fellow Marines.  He will be sadly missed by all and never forgotten.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the funeral home to the airport, approx 69 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the airport, we will meet you there.

The Patriot Guard Riders from Georgia will be there to receive this Hero as he arrives in Atlanta.

NOTE: Please have masks/face coverings available if required due to COVID restrictions
