The family of Walter Rexford Allan Lott has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the Celebration of Life in honor of their loved one. It will be our honor to do so.

Walter R. A. Lott entered life on 10/30/1941 and entered eternity on 05/26/2021.  He served in the United States Army, serving two enlistments: 1961-1965 and 1972-1973, exiting as Specialist E4.  He was stationed in Hawaii during the Vietnam War as an administrative assistant to a commanding general.

After Army life, Walter spent the next 25 years working in the movie industry as a lighting manager for Sony, Universal Studies, and Warner Brothers Motion Picture Companies.  His notable accomplishments were television series “The Bionic Woman” and “Colombo.”  Big screen movies included “The Coal Miner’s Daughter,” and other action movies with Mel Gibson and Chuck Norris’ “Missing in Action.”  Walter had to do “aerial and underwater screen shots,” as well as sub-zero winter shots in Tennessee.  Walter worked his way up from a helper to the Department Manager, training and managing a large movie lighting staff.  Both he and his brother, Jim Lott of San Diego, were involved in movie production.

When not involved in movie making, Walter coached high school football and softball in Rosamond, California along with enjoying hiking, swimming, boxing, and gardening.  He loved spending time with his favorite dog, “Cracker.”

Walter is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon.  He is survived by his daughter Kelli Sayers, brother, Jim Lott, and sister Tinker Freeman.  He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Per his good friend John: “Rex was a true "Patriot" and friend. His love for nature and travel kept him enjoying life! He loved his daughter Kelli Bennett very much! I will always remember Rex (Walter) as a dear friend. We shared many wonderful memories and travels.”
