The family of Lt. Reginald Edward Dupre' has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their Hero for his service. It will be our privilege to do so.

Reginald served in the US Navy from 1969 to 1976 and served in the “Blue water Navy” in Vietnam. Sadly, Reginald developed Parkinson’s disease from his exposure to Agent Orange.

Reginald was part of the Fighter Squadron One Two Four, Airborne Radar Intercept Officer stationed on the U.S.S. Midway during Vietnam. He received the National Service Defense Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/ Gold Star, Vietnam Service Medal, Presidential Unit Commendation, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V. He also served as an instructor in Top Gun before the F-14’s were unclassified. Because he had a strong interest in the engineering of these planes, he continued his education in Aircraft engineering.

He loved his granddaughter’s, motorcycles, tinkering with everything including plumbing, electronics, computers and anything his granddaughters brought to him broken.

Survived by Daughter – Nicole Dupre’ Achartz, Son – Jon Garrett Dupre’ , Son in law – Andrew Barrett Achartz, (3) Granddaughters and (2) Great Grandchildren.

Reginald gave up two wheeled motorcycles when his daughter was born, but went on to ride a Can-am until his Parkinson’s became to severe to ride.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there, by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
