The family of ADRC John Alfred Peterson has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their Hero, we are Honored to attend.

John Alfred “Jack” Peterson, John was born 14 January 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio. On January 2, 1952, he passed away on Friday January 14, 2022 in Ridgecrest of natural causes.
 
On January 2, 1952 John enlisted in the US Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate, after completing Basic Training at NTC San Diego, CA, he attended KD School for drones. In June of 1953 he transferred to the USS Quincy (CA-71) for WestPac deployment. In January of
1955, while stationed at NAS Barbers Point Hawaii, he completed his first obligation and reenlisted for 6 years transferring to NAS Memphis, Tennessee for Shore Duty. Upon Completion of shore duty, he returned to NAS Barbers Point and was advanced to AD3 Third Class Petty Officer. His next duty station led him back to NAS Barbers Point where he was advanced to AD2. In 1960 he attached to AIBARSRON 2 Det Midway Island.

John went by a couple nicknames one was Jack and later after advancing to Chief Petty Officer Sailors called him Chief Pete. After 22 years of faithful service Chief Pete retired from the US Navy at his last duty station Naval Air Warfare Center China Lake, California in September of
1974. Chief Peterson was awarded the Good Conduct Medal (6 awards),
National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service
Medal, China Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal.

He is survived by his 5 children, Patricia Selle, Jannett Olson, Stephen Peterson,
Cathy Clark and Barbara Manzanedo. He had 8 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 2 great great Grandchildren.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the mortuary to cemetery. Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. For those who would rather go directly to the cemetery, we will meet you there.

distancing while attending this service.
Please dress warm as cold temperatures are expected.
Please bring parade flags and hand -held flags for flag line, as well as
communication capability via CB if so equipped.

If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
