The family of US Army Mario Castellani, 98, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Mario Castellani, one of the few we have left to honor from our Greatest Generation, served in WWII in the Pacific Theater.  Mario served from 03/09/43 to 02/15/46 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

After serving, Mario worked as a warehouse foreman.  His hobbies included watching the Dodgers, horse racing, golf, and reading espionage novels.

Mario is survived by his spouse, Catherine; children, Catherine, Carol, and Steve; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by a sister, Margerite and a brother, Arthur.  Several other family members and friends will be present to honor Mario.

NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, this is a flag line only mission at the church listed below.  For those who would like to participate, please see the timetable and we will meet you there.

You do not have to be a veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the Ride Captain (RC).

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
