The Patriot Guard have been invited by the family of Luis Padilla Jr. to accompany on his journey to his final resting place at Riverside National Cemetery. It will be our honor to do so.

Luis proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for six years from 13 May 1977 to 13 Apr 1983 until his Honorable Discharge. Luis was deployed into foreign service, specifically to Beirut Lebanon during a time when the Middle East was involved in a complex and violent civil war. During his deployment Luis took a severe hit to the head resulting in him suffering a Traumatic Brain injury.

Luis returned to the front lines of duty within days of his injury and continued to serve with his fellow Marines despite his injury. Luis was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and earned a Rifle Marksmanship Badge.

Luis is survived by his loving daughter Melissa Guarnizo, her husband Johan and his only grandchild.

Luis is also survived by his Mother Elba and two sisters, Alice and Martha and a brother Johnny. Luis will be missed not only by his family but many friends as well.
