The family of LCpl Asher N. Oster, age 21, and the US Marine Corps, have invited the PGR to honor this Hero by accompanying him from the mortuary to the airport as he is transported home to South Carolina to his family. We will be honored and privileged to do so.
LCpl Oster was serving with Marine Corps Communications - Electronics School at MCAGCC Twentynine Palms at the time of his passing. He had been in the Corps several years and was very proud of being able to serve his country. He was well liked and respected by all his fellow Marines, both those above and below him in rank.
Born on December 20, 2000 in Clyde, TX, he was a son of Norman Oster, Jr. and Alicia Dobbyn Oster. Asher was a 2020 graduate of Mid Carolina High School.
He is survived by his mother, Alicia Oster of Prosperity; his father, Norman Oster of Chapin; sisters, Sarah (Todd) Ramsey of Graniteville, Danielle (O’Shea) Greeson of Saluda, Vanyah (Adam Almassri) Oster of Irmo, Matzohyah Oster, Chiylyah (Jake) Oster and Olivyah Oster all of Prosperity; a brother, Norman (Brittany) Oster III of Irmo; maternal grandmother, Dorlis (Terry) Deslit of Jefferson, GA; paternal grandmother, Marjorie (Joe) Lapinski of Clearwater, FL; nieces and nephews, Adelaide and Cole Greeson, Ella-Kate and Liam Ramsey and family friends, Shelley Laughter of Whitmire, Talo Linton and Jayden Lukie both of Prosperity. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Gordon Dobbyn and his paternal grandfather, Norman Oster, Sr.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the funeral home to the airport, a distance of approx 71 miles. Please see the time table if you would like to participate. If you prefer to meet us at the airport we will see you there.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
