The family of Teofilo Barron Obille has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
Teofilo (Bill) Obille, 85 years young, served proudly in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1981. He served on several ships as well as two tours in Vietnam onboard The USS Blue Ridge and The USS Midway. Bill also was a Company Commander at Naval Training Center San Diego. Bill retired as a Senior Chief.
Bill Obille was born to Roberto and Juana Obille in Cavite City, Philippines in 1937. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, Christian brother, and friend. He loved school and his hard-working, industrious, servant-heart was shown early in his need to help provide for his family by fishing daily before his school day started. By the age of 18 he had passed the rigorous exams and joined the US Navy. He married Marrietta Reyes in 1964 and had two daughters – Iris and Mylene-- who were both born in San Diego, CA.
At work, Bill was known for his excellent leadership skills, technical adeptness, patience, and strategic planning abilities. He is characterized by his constant generosity, humble spirit, humor, quiet and thoughtful demeanor, love for the LA Dodgers and faithfulness to his family and friends. He enjoyed singing “The Lord Bless Thee” at the end of Maranatha Church services.
Bill is survived by his wife Marrietta, daughter Iris and son-in-law Paul and two granddaughters, Olivia & Eliza.
