!! STAND DOWN !! THIS MISSION WILL BE POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - ILLNESS IN FAMILY !!

The family of Daniel Francis Grady, 96, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Daniel belonged to our Greatest Generation who served in the United States Navy during WWII from 07/08/1943 to 07/08/1947.  He served on the USS New Jersey (BB62) as a Gunner’s Mate Second Class under Admiral Bill Halsey and Admiral Raymond Spruance.  He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Campaign Medal, and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal w/9 stars.

After Daniel was honorably discharged from the Navy, he worked as an aeronautical engineer for General Dynamics, a real estate broker, and a court reporter.  Daniel was an avid reader, collecting a library of over 1,400 books.  He also played chess, teaching his grandson how to play, and enjoyed gardening.  Daniel was very active in his church overseeing many devotional services.

Daniel leaves behind his wife Alice Marie Kinney-Grady; three children, Denise Grady, Debra Grady, and David Waller. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
