The family of CDR Robert Ramirez III, age 47, and the US Navy, S.E.A.L Team One, have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany this Hero from the funeral home to the cemetery for his final honors, we are privileged to do so.

CDR Robert Ramirez III enlisted in the US Navy in 1996 and was commissioned in 2004.  He was a Navy SEAL, the "Best of the Best" and was Commander of SEAL Team One at the time of his unexpected passing.  He had served 27 years in the Navy and was a highly decorated officer.  He had received several awards, including five Bronze Star medals and three Combat Action Ribbons. He had also been awarded medals for campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Capt. David Abernathy, commander of Naval Special Warfare Group 1, paid tribute to Ramirez:

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ramirez family. Bobby [Robert Ramirez] was an outstanding leader, devoted husband, and father, and a good friend to us all.”   “This is a devastating loss to our community and all who knew him. We will remain in support of Bobby’s family, friends, and teammates during this extremely difficult time.”

CDR Ramirez is survived by his loving wife and 4 beautiful children and many other family members.  And of course his Band of Brothers, his fellow SEALs.  He will be deeply missed by all and never forgotten.
