The family of William Lawson has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country.   It will be our privilege to do so.

PH1 William Lawson served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war. He was a photographer installing cameras on the aircraft and taking pictures for the Navy.  William in his 20 years received many awards including 4 good conduct medals. William retired after 20 years of service.

William was born in Oklahoma in 1941 and joined the Navy soon after high school. William and his wife had three daughters and 19 grand and great grandchildren. He loved his family first and since 2016 he sent each of them a daily text message of a funny picture or saying. His family says that they will miss those daily text messages. William’s biggest passion was fishing and spent a lot of his free time throughout his life fishing.  William had a very strong faith that he spread through his family.

NOTE: This mission posting facilitates your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, we will be accompanying our hero and his family from the mortuary to his final resting place, approx.16 miles.  Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. We will meet you there for those who would rather go directly to the cemetery.
