The family of Master-At-Arms Petty Officer 1st Class Mark Wilmouth Jansen has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their Hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Mark passed away at the young age of 56.

Mark joined the Navy in Sept. 1983 and honorably retired in Nov. 2006 as a MA1 E-6 (Master-At-Arms Petty Officer 1st Class).  While in the Navy, Mark went to MA School, MA-Protective Service Specialist (HVT/VIP), MA-Military Investigator, NCIS Weapons Training, Protective Operations Training, Advanced Terrorism, Abduction and Hostage Survival, Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape Training, and Special Warfare Combatant Craft Crewman (SWCC).  He served in multiple conflicts.  He earned the Southwest Asia Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and Saudi Arabia Kuwait Liberation Medal (Gulf War Veteran).

Mark spent his career protecting others both while in service and after in civilian life. He served in Naval Special Warfare and earned SWCC qualification while also serving the leadership as a personal bodyguard.

Mark is survived by his siblings, Ann-Marie McNeil and Michael Jansen.

Mark's family is asking the PGR to accompany them to Miramar National Cemetery.
