The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to attend funeral services and military honors by the family of Jose "Pepe" Davila, Jr, a Vietnam Veteran, US Army. It will be our honor to do so.

Jose served in the US Army from Jan 1966 - Jan 1972. He served two years in Vietnam.  He received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of SP4.  His service to our country ultimately cost him his life as he recently passed away from Agent Orange related cancer.  His death is officially service related.

“Pepe,” as he was known by family and friends, worked at Northop as a parts expeditor for many years right out of the service.

Pepe loved billiards and was very good.  He used to win many pool challenges in his day.

In 1985, he left his job and sold his house in Long Beach to assist his mother in taking care of his father in 1985.  In 1987, his father passed away.  He then took care of his mother for many years until she passed away in 2014 at the age of 93 years old.  He was a man of great faith and determination.

Pepe is survived by his brother Carlos Davila and sister Vita Campos.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Maria Elena Campos. He never married and had no children.  He is survived by many nieces and nephews and lived with his niece, Michelle, who cared for him until his passing.
