The family of 100 year old World War II Navy Veteran Morris Brown has asked the Patriot Guard to be with them as they say their final good-bye to their hero.

Mr. Brown was assigned to the  USS Blue (DD-744) where he was involved with action in and around the Volvanos-Bonin-Yap raid, the capture of the southern Palaus, the Philippine Islands, Luzon, Formosa, China Coast, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa.  The USS Blue also accepetd the surrendeer of the Japanese submring i-400  off the coast of Honshu.  Additionally, the Blue was part of the escort for the battleship Missouri when she entered Tokyo Bay to accept Japan's surrender.

Mr. Brown is survived by three daughters, one son, nine grandchildren and more than 10 great grandchildren.

NOTE: You do not have to be a veteran or motorcycle rider to attend this mission.  All Patriot Guard Riders are welcome.  We encourage those who do not ride to attend in their car.  If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed by the Ride Captain (RC).  Dress for motorcycle riding or casually if you are in a car (cage).  For the sanctity of the mission and out of respect for the hero and family, no shorts or other inappropriate attire.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum.
