The family of Daniel Hatton has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service.  It will be our privilege to do so.

Daniel Kelly Hatton, 78, served his country in the Army for 32 years. Daniel was a proud veteran having earned The Meritorious Service Medal (x3), The Joint Service Commendation Medal, The Army Commendation Medal, and several Good Conduct Medals. He retired at the rank of Colonel.

After his service, Daniel continued his education and eventually received his doctorate in Computer Science. He would use his degree to assist others seeking theirs by working for SAIC (School of Art Institute of Chicago) as the Communications Intelligence Officer for orange county. Daniel was a very successful professional, but he had a goofy side to him. Being born and raised here in sunny southern California, he was an avid surfer, which he did until his late 60's. He also had several other hobbies, playing guitar, fishing, traveling, camping, and a lot of reading books. He gave of his time by volunteering at MOAA (Military Officers Association of America), he was an American Legion Member, and also member of the Masons.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gerda, daughters Heidi, and Anna, grandchildren Arieanna, Nick, Tyler, Paigan, and Darian. great grandchildren Kayd, Emerson, Parker, Serenity, Dominic, and Tristan.
