The family of Captain Howard R. Knohl (86) have requested the presence of the Patriot Guard as military honors are conducted.  It is our honor to do so.

Dr. Knohl served our country from 1967 to his discharge in 1970 at the rank of Captain. Upon completion of his residency in radiology Dr. Knohl was drafted into the U. S. Army and was sent to Cu Chi where he served at the 12th Evacuation Hospital as a front-line triage doctor.  In this position he was responsible for making critical life and death decisions for mass casualties on a daily basis.  As a result of his military service he was a victim of Agent Orange which led to his death.

After his service to our country Howard worked as an interventional Radiologist .  He became chairman of the Department of Radiologist at Humana Hospital in Westminster and ascended to Chief of Staff, and then Chairman of Radiology.  Howard was also a patron of the arts and an avid art collector.  He was President of the Board of Directors for the Anaheim Performing Arts Center Foundation.

Dr. Knohl is survived by his wife Linda.  Sons, Robert and Stephen and daughters, Lori and Andrea.
He is also survived by five Grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, Grant, Connor and Caitlyn.

Dr. Knohl was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
