The family of SFC Larry Baltierra has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany their loved one to his final resting place. It will be our honor to do so.

Sergeant First Class Larry Baltierra, was born in Los Angeles, CA and received a High School diploma from Centennial High School in June 1994.  SFC Baltierra enlisted in the Army in Oct 1995 and completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Benning Georgia, where he was awarded the military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 11B, Infantry.

SFC Baltierra has served as a Rifleman, Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Brigade; Forward Operations Base Kalsu (FOB) Force Protection NCOIC, Battalion Military Transition Team NCOIC (MiTT), Brigade Assistant S-2 National Police Transition Team (NiPTT) and worked with the Joint Modernization Command (JMC) G3/5/7 upon his retirement.  In total he served 25 years and 7 months in the United States Army.

He was awarded 3 Bronze Stars.  He deployed a total of six times to Iraq, Afghanistan and Qatar.  His first deployment being in 1999 and his last in 2012.

SFC Baltierra is survived by his mother Anita and Father Ruben Baltierra Sr., and stepmother Margaret Baltierra.  He has 4 brothers Ruben, Ron, Albert, Danny, and two sisters Rachelle and Candy.  He is also survived by his two sons Anthony Baltierra who currently serves on active duty in the Army and Tyler Baltierra.  SFC Baltierra has two grandchildren Mason and Lillian.

Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested and all PGR members are welcome. We will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the Church in Corona to the cemetery (approx. 19 miles). Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. If you prefer to meet the procession at the cemetery, please feel free to do so.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there, by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

1000 - Mission Briefing

1030-1115 - Flagline for transfer of our hero from church to coach.

1130 - KSU for accompaniment to RNC

1300 - KSU to assigned shelter for military honors.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
