The family of Brian Joseph Styer has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Brian was the brother of one of our Patriot Guard brothers, Brad Styer. As Patriot Guards we are always honored to support our PGR family in any way we can.

Brian served in the United States Sir Force from 1975 to 1976 (almost two years). Brian entered the service out of High School via delayed enlistment and was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base which he was happy to be stationed at due to the local surf and beaches. He was injured while serving and was medically discharged with an Honorable Discharge.

After his service Brian went on to work for B-Bars doing maintenance and repairs but then homed in on his plumbing skills and went on to become a foreman for several large contracting companies for more than 20 years. Brian loved photography and surfing. He found his faith in God and even started a surfing group in Indonesia, where he did ministry with his Church “Horizon”.

Brian lived near his brother Brad and loved hearing Brads stories about Patriot Guard missions that he attended. He would ask Brad what service and what Brad knew about the hero that was honored and always thanked Brad for being a Patriot Guard Rider. I think Brian will be very honored having the Patriot Guard there for him!

NOTE: This mission posting facilitates your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested, and all PGR members are welcome, this mission is a Flag Line of Honor at Miramar National Cemetery.

You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
