The family of Lawrence Bruce Norris and Carole Ann Norris has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor their heroes for their service to our country. It will be our privilege to do so.

Lawrence and Carole were both in the Navy. Lawrence served 20 years on active duty and 10 years in the reserves. He was honorably discharged in 1985. Carole served in the Navy for two years, when she met and married Lawrence and was honorably discharged.

Lawrence was in the Korean War & in Vietnam. While serving he received the Navy Unit commendation; Good Conduct Medal for period ending in; National Vietnam Service Medal, Naval Meritorious Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Sea Service Deployment ribbon; China Service Medal; Korean Service Medal; United Nations Service medal; Korean Presidential Unit Citation.

Their survivors are their children Catherine Merritt, John Norris, and Leslie Carter.  They had five grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lawrence & Carole were full-time RVers, for about 15 years traveling across the USA numerous times. They loved to visit family and friends and attend ship reunions.  Carole was a nanny and had a home daycare at one point. Lawrence loved to watch the San Diego Padres, Chargers and Notre Dame College Football. He also loved working on home projects and tinkering in the garage. Both loved spending time with family.

For those interested, all PGR Members are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero’s and their family from the family home in La Mesa to their final resting place, Miramar National Cemetery (approximately 15 miles).  Please see the time table if you would like to participate. You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, and you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or wear casual attire while driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.
Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
