The family of Robert Restor has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard to bring their loved one home to his final resting place. It will be our honor to do so.
Robert “Rusty” Restor was born in Newport, Rhode Island. Robert went by the name of Rusty. Rusty later on became a resident of Fullerton, Ca for 42 years.
Robert proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, for seven and a half years, as a helicopter crew chief serving from 2-26-1968 until his Honorable discharge in 10-10-1975.
Rusty's awards from his time with the Marine Corps were: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Air crew Insignia, Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award)
After Roberts military service, he became a coach operator at Orange County Transit Authority for 42 years.
If you knew Rusty, you were exposed to his fun-loving sense of humor, which he proudly passed on to his children. He was most proud of his children and did his best to be an active participant in their daily lives. He was a constant in helping coach children's sports teams and walking with his friends.
Rusty especially enjoyed when he was able to give their classes tours of OCTA on "Buster the Bus". If you needed a helping hand, he would quickly volunteer.
He will be dearly missed by his family, and many friends whom he treated as family.
Rusty is survived by his wife Debbie, Daughters: Melissa, & Deviney Restor. Sons: David, Justin, and Timothy,
Brothers: Paul and Edilberto. 9 Grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Note: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested and all PGR members are welcome. We will be accompanying the Hero and his family from the Church to the cemetery, (approx. 17 miles). Please see the timetable if you would like to participate. If you prefer to meet the procession at the cemetery, please feel free to do so.
You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. All PGR members are welcome. We encourage those who do not ride to attend in your car. If this will be your first mission go to the initial staging area and you will be briefed there, by the Ride Captain (RC). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage (car). Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for our Heroes. No talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we are honoring.
