Robert Long served with the United States Marine Corps, for a short period of time in 1964, before being injured on Active Duty and returned to his home in California.
During his time on Active Duty, he was part of a special team in Vietnam.

Robert worked in construction for many years, while enjoying weightlifting at Venice Beach and riding his Harley-Davidson. He enjoyed training others in self-defense.

Robert was a very private person who had few friends, but those he had were very dear to him and very close to him. He is said to be one of the calmest and kindest gentlemen they had ever known.

Robert is survived by two daughters and several grandchildren.

We encourage those who do not ride to participate in your car. If this is your first mission, go to the initial staging area, where you will be briefed by the R/C (Ride Captain). Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a car. Please feel free to attend any portion of this mission you can. Please ride/drive safely.

Remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent with honor and respect for our Heroes—no talking, smoking, or cell phone use during the flag line or service. Please keep the radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Remember, cemeteries are hallowed ground. Show respect to all who are there, not just the ones we honor.
