UPDATE: PLEASE READ THE CHANGE NOTED BELOW REGARDING A READING CEREMONY TO TAKE PLACE IN LIEU OF VETERANS WITHOUT FAMILY.* In observance of Juneteenth on Wednesday, 19 June 2024, Riverside National Cemetery (administration) will be closed. No cremains will be coming from either the Los Angeles Country Coroner’s Office or the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office. We will STAND DOWN for Veterans Without Family (VWF) on this date.
*In lieu of VWF, a request has been made and approved for a small ceremony to take place for reading of the names of WWII Combat MIAs for the state of Maryland during normal VWF hours - at the National POW/MIA Memorial at RNC. The cemetery director has assigned Shelly Gore as a POC for our gathering. Anyone that would care to join in is absolutely and certainly welcome.
